The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for ground beef sold at Aladdin’s Food on 611 Wonderland Road in London. The recall affects beef with a best before date of February 28, 2025, and packaged on February 24, 2025, which may be contaminated with E. coli O103.
The CFIA advises consumers not to eat, sell, serve, or distribute the affected product.
If you have purchased the recalled beef, you are urged to either dispose of it or return it to the store where it was bought. If you believe the recalled product has caused illness, it is important to contact your healthcare provider.
It’s important to note that E. coli O103 contamination may not cause food to appear spoiled, but it can still lead to illness. Symptoms of infection include nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, and watery or bloody diarrhea. In severe cases, the infection can lead to seizure, stroke, or permanent kidney damage.
