A London courtroom heard details on Thursday about one of Canada’s largest drug busts, which resulted in the seizure of 15 kilograms of fentanyl and three kilograms of cocaine—narcotics with an estimated street value of $3.2 million.
At the time of the seizure, police in Sarnia and London described it as a significant blow to drug trafficking operations in the region.
Investigation Unravels Major Drug Operation
According to an agreed statement of facts, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) launched an investigation in 2022 after receiving intelligence about an unidentified male, known only by the nickname “Osama.” The suspect was alleged to be trafficking cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine in London and Sarnia.
Undercover officers eventually confirmed “Osama” as 24-year-old Taymoor Pasha.
Swift Police Action Leads to Seizure
In January 2023, law enforcement officers executed raids at two locations—one on Mornington Avenue and another on Cheapside Street.
During the operation:
- Pasha was arrested at the Cheapside Street address.
- A large quantity of narcotics was seized.
The court heard that Pasha frequently traveled between London and the Sarnia border as part of his drug trafficking operation.
With sentencing now underway, the case marks a landmark moment in the fight against organized drug crime in Ontario.
