
Sarnia police arrested a man on Friday afternoon after he was seen smoking fentanyl in an alleyway behind a business located at Colborne Road and Exmouth Street. The incident occurred around 1:40 p.m. when plainclothes officers encountered the suspect.
Upon searching the 30-year-old man, who has no fixed address, police found a four-inch hunting knife, bolt cutters, and tin snips in his possession. At the time of his arrest, the man was under a probation order with conditions that prohibited him from carrying weapons.
He was charged with breach of probation and possession of break-in instruments. The arrest highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address drug use and criminal activity in the area.
