During testimony on Tuesday, a forensic expert suggested that the blood found in a vehicle connected to the accused could belong to murder victim Shaniqua Henry.
Dr. Gerald Alderson, a forensic scientist with the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto, examined blood samples found in a Black Chevy Impala that was registered to 34-year-old Koree Dockstater, the accused.
Dr. Alderson stated, “Shaniqua Henry cannot be excluded as the source of the blood found on the front passenger seat of the Chevy Impala.” A similar finding was made regarding blood found on the vehicle’s door handle.
Shaniqua Henry, 27, was discovered dead on a driveway along Jubilee Road in Chippewas of the Thames First Nation on July 19, 2022. She died from a stab wound to the heart.
Evidence presented during the ongoing murder trial has revealed that Henry and Dockstater were friends and had spent time together prior to her death. Dockstater has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder.
The trial will continue on Wednesday.
