A 30-year-old man has been arrested following an ongoing investigation in St. Thomas. The investigation, which began earlier this year, culminated on Monday with the arrest of the accused and a search of a residence on Elgin Street.

The arrest was carried out by the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) near Centre Street. During the arrest and subsequent search, law enforcement seized several illegal items.

Items Found on the Suspect:

  • Brass knuckles
  • Coyote spray
  • A functioning digital scale
  • Clear plastic dime bags

Items Seized at the Elgin Street Residence:

  • Two flick knives
  • 54 methylphenidate capsules (10 mg)
  • 14 lisdexamfetamine capsules (40 mg)
  • Six hydromorphone tablets (4 mg)
  • Two rounds of Winchester .308 ammunition

As a result of the investigation, the suspect faces multiple charges, including:

  • Three counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Two counts of possession of a Schedule III substance for trafficking
  • One count of possession of a Schedule I substance

The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to address the seized items and charges.
