
Two individuals have tragically lost their lives in a collision near Lucknow, Ontario.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Highway 86, close to Langside Street.
According to authorities, a head-on collision between an SUV and a pickup truck towing a livestock trailer resulted in significant damage to both vehicles.
The SUV’s driver, a 54-year-old man from Huron-Kinloss, and a 49-year-old passenger in the pickup truck from the Municipality of Brockton, were pronounced deceased at the scene. Another passenger in the pickup truck sustained serious injuries and was airlifted from the scene, though their condition has since improved to non-life-threatening.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 49-year-old from Huron-Kinloss, suffered minor injuries.
As the investigation unfolds, a portion of Highway 86 east of Lucknow remained closed for several hours. Both the South Bruce OPP and Western Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Unit are handling the investigation.
