Get ready to bundle up again as a cold front is set to sweep across the region tonight, bringing a mix of rain and snow in the coming days.

“We have a cold front moving in today with some rainfall, and even some snow mixed in,” said CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. “While most of the activity in London will be rainfall, areas to the north could see up to a couple of centimeters of snow.”

The cold front will make its presence felt Tuesday evening, with northwest winds gusting between 40-60 km/h, drawing in cold air and potentially causing flurries to develop.

Those chilly temperatures are expected to persist into Wednesday night, when lake-effect flurries may return. “Winter just doesn’t want to let go,” Atchison joked.

However, the long weekend offers a slight improvement, with temperatures warming slightly and a mix of rain and sun.

Here’s the forecast for the London area:

  • Tuesday: Cloudy in the morning with a few showers. Winds will be from the west at 20 km/h, gusting to 40 km/h, then shifting to northwest at 40 km/h, gusting up to 60 km/h later in the morning. Temperatures will drop to 4°C by the afternoon.

  • Tuesday Night: Cloudy with a 70% chance of rain showers or flurries, switching to a 70% chance of flurries in the evening. Winds will be from the northwest at 40 km/h, gusting to 60 km/h. The low will be 2°C.

  • Wednesday: A mix of sun and cloud with a 30% chance of flurries. High of 6°C.

  • Thursday: Sunny with a high of 13°C.

  • Friday: Cloudy with a 60% chance of showers. High of 19°C.

  • Saturday: Cloudy with a 30% chance of showers. High of 12°C.

  • Sunday: A mix of sun and cloud. High of 12°C.
